This also means that grievance redressal is faster, more responsible, and generally of higher quality. Majority of the schemes are closely monitored by the central and state governments with Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Rajasthan implementing most of the schemes.

Impact of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

Therefore, special attention to PMMVY programme implementation is needed to achieving the intended goals since the following milestones have been accomplished; According to the current statistics as of 2020, more than 1. 75 crore eligible women have availed the scheme and Rs. 5,931 crore has been provided for it. Increased from Rs. 127. 39 crore spent between calendar year 2018 and calendar year 2020 to Rs. 494. 95 crore disbursed to the beneficiaries. The scheme has also not only enhanced care and treatment of pregnant women and maternity but also has made women take charge of their reproductive lives.

The key scheme of Government of India which has brought a paradigm shift in health care of millions of pregnant women and lactating mothers is Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. PMMVY has the facility monetary assist and promotion of institutional delivery and thereby helped the maternal health and decreased the IMR. However, due to such extensive coverage of the scheme the effectiveness of its implementation and monitoring should not be over looked. Thus, PMMVY is one of the evident examples of ensuring the government of India’s focus on the wellbeing of Indian citizens with a focus on the most vulnerable ones.
