Gujarat Weather Forecast: Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Expected in Next 5 Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a new weather forecast for Gujarat, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 5 days. According to the forecast, two systems are active over Gujarat, leading to increased rainfall activity in the state.

Weather Forecast for Next 5 Days

July 30-31: Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Saurashtra and Kutch regions, with yellow alert issued for districts such as Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Morbi, and Surendranagar.

August 1-2: Heavy rainfall expected in central and southern Gujarat, with heavy isolated rainfall predicted for districts such as Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli.

Reasons for Heavy Rainfall

The IMD has attributed the heavy rainfall to two active systems over Gujarat:

1. Low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea, which is expected to intensify into a depression.

2. Upper air cyclonic circulation over the state, which is leading to increased moisture and instability in the atmosphere.

Precautions and Advisory

Residents of Gujarat are advised to take necessary precautions during the heavy rainfall period, including:

Avoiding travel to flood-prone areas

Staying indoors during heavy rainfall

Keeping a watch on local weather updates and warnings

Conclusion

The weather forecast for Gujarat indicates a high likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 5 days. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about local weather updates.
