In a recent development, the prices of LPG gas cylinders have been hiked, affecting commercial consumers. The new rates, effective from September 1, show an increase in prices across various cities, including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. However, this price hike only applies to 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders.
New Prices for 19 kg Commercial LPG Cylinders
- Delhi: ₹1,691.50 (previously ₹1,652.50)
- Kolkata: ₹1,802.50 (previously ₹1,764.50)
- Mumbai: ₹1,644 (previously ₹1,605)
- Chennai: ₹1,855 (previously ₹1,817)
These prices are for Indian Oil's Indane LPG cylinders.
Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged
Despite the price hike for commercial cylinders, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain the same. The current prices for 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders are:
- Delhi: ₹803
- Kolkata: ₹829
- Mumbai: ₹802.50
- Chennai: ₹818.50

Looking at historical prices, the lowest price recorded in September was ₹466.50. Last year, on September 1, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi was ₹903, which is ₹100 more than the current price.
