India Post has announced a significant recruitment drive for 2025, offering 21,413 vacancies for the position of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). This is a remarkable opportunity for candidates seeking a stable government job in the postal department. The online application process started on February 10, 2025, and the last date to apply is March 3, 2025.  

The recruitment aims to fill GDS positions across 23 postal circles in India, including states like Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, and Maharashtra. The available roles include Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak, catering to rural postal services.  

Educational Qualification for India Post GDS 2025

  
To be eligible, candidates must have passed the 10th standard with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects. Additionally, they should have studied the local language of the postal circle up to Class 10. Basic computer knowledge is required, and cycling proficiency is desirable.  


Age Limit
 
The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 40 years as of the application date. Age relaxations apply for reserved categories as per government norms.  

Salary Details
 
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary as per the following structure:  
  • Branch Postmaster (BPM): ₹12,000 – ₹29,380  
  • Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 – ₹24,470  
Application Fee
  •  General, EWS, and OBC candidates: ₹100  
  • SC, ST, PwD, and all female candidates: Exempted  
Payment can be made via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Selection Process

The selection is merit-based, meaning:
